This is one of the two illustrations in Kuro-E Challenge artbook ( cyclic-redundancy.com/2013/10/… )
It shows what happens when you make Ryō angry. Considering his short temper and attitude it is quite easy to get him like this. Even though he is a temple guardian -and therefore should not be attacking one- he will turn against his masters if he considers they're not treating him respectfully enough.
